Automotive Technician
Akkodis is seeking a Labor Time Study Technician for a 6+ month contract job with an automotive manufacturer in Allen Park, MI. The ideal candidate will have an automotive repair background and be computer savvy.
Pay Rate: $30.00/hour;The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Responsibilities
- Accurately diagnose and repair vehicles in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
- Document all work performed within our inhouse systems, parts used, and hours worked, with clear and accurate written communication.
- Collaborate with other staff and management to ensure a smooth workflow and project timing.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- At least 2+ years of experience working as an automotive technician, preferably within a Ford dealership.
- Proven diagnostic and mechanical skills, including the use of modern computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical bulletins.
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel for administrative tasks and record-keeping.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Strong communication skills:
Effectively explain mechanical issues and repairs to clients and team members, with attention to correct spelling and grammar. - Attention to detail:
Perform work with a high degree of accuracy and meticulousness. - Problem‑solving abilities:
Use technical knowledge and critical thinking to resolve complex mechanical and electronic issues. - Teamwork:
Work effectively as part of a cross‑functional team and contribute to a positive and collaborative environment. - Professional attitude:
Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with colleagues and customers. - Adaptability:
Stay up‑to‑date with new automotive technologies and changing industry standards through ongoing learning.
- ASE Master Certification or other relevant ASE certifications.
- Ford‑specific factory training or certifications, such as the Ford Accelerated Credential Training (FACT) program.
