Looking for a hands-on technical role with cutting-edge electric vehicle technology? Join a leading automotive research and development laboratory as an Inverter Testing Technologist. In this position, you'll help build, test, troubleshoot, and maintain advanced power electronics testing systems that support next-generation vehicle technologies.
Education Requirements- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate degree in Automotive Technology or a related technical field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in a testing, validation, R&D, or laboratory environment
- 2+ years of low-voltage and high-voltage wiring harness assembly experience
- Experience reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures, including LOTO practices
- Experience with machining, prototyping, fixture fabrication, or equipment assembly preferred
- Experience with soldering, precision measurement tools, blueprint reading, or 3D printing is a plus
- Build and assemble electromechanical test equipment and fixtures
- Fabricate and inspect wiring harnesses and test components
- Install sensors and instrumentation on prototype assemblies
- Operate testing equipment, thermal chambers, and power systems
- Troubleshoot test setups and perform equipment maintenance
- Conduct test system teardown and component evaluations
- Support inventory management, shipping, receiving, and lab organization
- Maintain a safe and efficient work environment
- Ability to work with testing equipment and laboratory tools
- Ability to lift, move, and position materials and components as needed
- Ability to stand, bend, and work in a hands‑on technical environment
