Akkodis is looking for an experienced Automotive Electrical Diagnostics System Specialist in Allen Park, MI with a strong background in automotive electrical diagnostics

This is a technical hotline support role
, not a traditional customer service/CSR position. The ideal candidate should have hands-on technical experience and be comfortable troubleshooting electrical and diagnostic issues while communicating with frustrated dealership technicians
Automotive Electrical Diagnostics System Specialist
Pay Range:$32.16/hr.
- $36.16/hr (The pay range may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM EST
Work Arrangement & Training- 100% remote after training
, with one onsite meeting per week
. - Candidates must be available to work onsite in the Dearborn/Allen Park area for approximately 2 weeks for training
. - After training, the role will transition to a primarily remote schedule.
The ideal candidate is an experienced automotive electrical diagnostic technician or technical hotline specialist who can troubleshoot complex electrical issues, understand wiring diagrams, communicate effectively with dealership technicians, and provide calm, professional support when dealing with challenging situations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support to Ford dealerships and technicians through a technical hotline.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose automotive electrical and diagnostic issues
. - Review and interpret electrical wiring diagrams and schematics
. - Help dealership technicians identify the root cause of vehicle electrical and diagnostic problems.
- Provide clear, accurate technical guidance and troubleshooting steps.
- Handle calls from frustrated dealers in a professional and helpful manner.
- Document diagnostic issues, solutions, and technical information as needed.
- Support warranty-related diagnostic issues for Ford vehicles.
- Work with automotive diagnostic systems and technologies.
- 5–10 years of electrical diagnostic experience in an automotive/technical environment.
- Previous Technical Hotline / Technical Support Call Center experience is required.
- Automotive diagnostic/electrical background is required.
- Must be able to read and understand electrical diagrams/schematics
. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working with and assisting dealership technicians
. - Ability to remain professional when dealing with frustrated customers/dealers.
Candidates with only general Customer Service Representative (CSR) experience will not be considered. This position requires a strong technical and diagnostic background.
Preferred Qualifications- Ford SYNC diagnostic experience is a plus.
- Experience with APIM, TCU, and ECG systems is a plus.
- ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
- Previous experience supporting Ford dealerships is a plus.
