Position: Varsity Boys Soccer Head Coach
Location: Allen Park, MI
The Varsity Boys Soccer Head Coach works to maintain, organize, and administer the interscholastic soccer program at Cabrini High School. The Varsity coach is responsible for helping execute the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of their entire program. The successful candidate will be required to follow the procedures of the Cabrini High School handbook, the Cabrini athletic department, the Catholic League (CHSL), and the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Has full responsibility for the overall supervision and development of the Varsity program and oversees the JV and CYO programs of St. Frances Cabrini.
- In coordination with the Athletic Department, plans and implements team activities, tryouts, practices, game plans and summer activities.
- Teaches student-athletes to perform sound, safe fundamental techniques of the designated sport throughout the season.
- Responsible for the safety and security of the team before, during, and after events and traveling to and from events.
- Verifies that the Athletic Director clears each team member before allowing him/her to tryout or practice as it pertains to academic, behavioral or medical eligibility.
- Head Coach, staff, and players are responsible for maintaining facilities which include field maintenance, gameday set up/take down, uniform collection, equipment care, etc.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Varsity coaching experience for at least 2 years preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, motivational and team building skills
- Committed and motivated to bring this program to new heights
- Willingness to become CAP, CPR, and Protecting God’s Children certified
- Experience as a player preferred
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and sportsmanship.
- Available to work a flexible schedule including afternoon/evening/weekends
- Propagating a culture of Christian faith, sportsmanship, professionalism and respect at all levels.
