Accounting Manager - Hybrid - Allen​/McKinney, Texas

We are working with a private equity-backed technology firm that is looking to bring on an Accounting Manager. The company is experiencing strong expansion through both organic growth and acquisitions. This is a hands‑on leadership role reporting to the Assistant Controller, with responsibility for core accounting operations and a small team.

• Manage and execute the monthly close process, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Ensure financial results are accurate, complete, and delivered on time
• Assist with internal management reporting, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial analysis
• Support implementation and ongoing application of new accounting standards

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll, project cost accounting, and revenue recognition
• Ensure proper accounting for capital projects, fixed assets, and construction‑in‑progress activity
• Partner closely with operations and project teams to ensure accurate financial data and cost tracking

• Support external audits, lender reporting, and Private Equity reporting requirements
• Assist with preparation of audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risk
• Ensure accounting policies and procedures are followed consistently and documented appropriately

• Directly manage and develop a team of accounting professionals
• Review work product, provide coaching and feedback, and support professional development
• Promote accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the team
• Serve as a go‑to resource for technical accounting and operational questions

• Evaluate existing accounting processes and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and scalability
• Assist with documentation, standardization, and implementation of improved procedures
• Support systems enhancements and ERP utilization as the business continues to grow

• CPA required
• 5–8+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting and industry experience
• Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
• Strong understanding of GAAP, month‑end close, and financial statements
• Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors
• Strong ASC 606 Revenue Recognition experience a big plus
