After School Class Teacher

Summary

A Montessori preschool and After School program in Allen is seeking an After School teacher for grades K-5, part-time schedule (2:30pm - 6:00pm), starting end of March.

• Assist, if needed, with students' homework and worksheets.
• Plan daily activities for class.
• Demonstrate ability to work on a team in a collaborative environment.
• Supervise the children at all times; observe and monitor indoors and outdoors, ensuring each child’s health and safety.
• Provide positive guidance to help children develop the ability to be self-disciplined.
• Model and use social and emotional learning lessons to reinforce appropriate social skills.
• Report all cases of abuse or suspected abuse as required by law.
• Follow all rules, regulations, and policies at Discovery Montessori Academy.
• Complete all assigned training.
• Perform other functions that may be assigned by administration and/or supervisor.

This position requires love, patience, and respect for children. The teacher will encourage the children to be independent and model appropriate manners and behaviors.

• Previous experience with preschool children in a school setting.
• Proficient and fluent in English.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Work well with children, parents, and other staff members.
• Will need to pass a background check and fingerprinting and CPR/First Aid certification.
