We are looking for an outstanding HLTA to lead the support of SEN students with literacy difficulties and students who have English as an Additional Language (EAL). Experience of delivering support in either of these areas of need as a HLTA or TA is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will lead targeted interventions for students with additional literacy needs, including those with EAL. The HLTA will plan, deliver, and assess the impact of small group and one-to-one support, working closely with the SENDCo and other teaching staff to ensure all learners can access and achieve in the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver tailored literacy interventions (e.g., phonics, reading comprehension, spelling, writing).
- Support teachers to engage students in class who have literacy difficulties.
- Monitor and track pupil progress in literacy, reporting to the SENDCo.
- Identify the language development needs of EAL students and provide targeted support.
- Deliver structured EAL programmes to support language acquisition and curriculum access.
- Promote the inclusion of EAL students across all aspects of school life.
- Assist with the induction and pastoral care of newly arrived EAL pupils.
- Cover the intervention room - LS1 as needed.
- Provide feedback to teachers and contribute to assessment processes.
- Liaise with parents/carers, sharing progress and strategies for home support.
- Maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and aspirational learning environment.
