Primary
Purpose:
To organize and oversee the safety and success of students, monitor student discipline as well as student and teacher attendance, evaluating academic progress of students and utilizing the AHS student services model.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
* Texas Mid-Management or Texas Principal Certification
* T-TESS Appraiser certified
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
* Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills
* Demonstrates a passion for learning
* Evidence of strong instructional leadership skills
Experience:
* A minimum of 2 years' experience as a classroom teacher, 5+ years' experience preferred
* Successful experience as a secondary administrator , 3+ years' experience preferred
Major
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Assumes the responsibilities as the instructional leader for the assigned department/subject area.
* Holds team leader meetings to review relevant assessment data for the purpose of student academic success.
* Conducts instructional learning walks to help assess overall strength of instruction.
* Assists in the evaluation of the overall instructional program.
* Promotes student use of technology in the classroom.
* Expects and supports innovative instructional practices in the classroom.
* Assists in the planning of professional learning opportunities.
* Promotes a positive, caring climate for learning.
* Works sensitively and fairly with all students and staff.
* Uses data systems to help monitor, analyze, improve campus performance objectives and academic progress measures.
* Observes and evaluates assigned teachers in their professional development goals and activities.
* Holds staff accountable to high expectations.
* Expects and supports teachers working in high performing collaborative teams.
* Work with teacher leaders to help compile annual assigned budget development.
* Assists in the development of the master instructional schedule for assigned department.
* Supervises and supports assigned house office staff.
* Monitors student attendance and files reports as necessary according to campus, district, and state policies.
* Applies AHS discipline practices in accordance with state and local policies that result in positive student behavior.
* Ensures school rules are uniformly and consistently applied in the management of student.
* Adequately supervises students during non-instructional events both during and after school hours.
* Conducts conferences as necessary with parents, students, and staff.
* Pursues personal professional growth and applies the learning in daily professional practices.
* Articulates and supports the campus and district mission for improving student learning.
* Builds positive relationship with parents using appropriate and effective techniques to encourage parent and community involvement.
* Solicits support of parents and community members to build a positive partnership with AISD and Allen High School in realizing the mission and goals.
* Performs other administrative duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
To supervise teachers as assigned by the principal in order to lead and oversee all facets of the curriculum and instruction delivery system.

Pay Grade PG05, $425.19-$502.01 daily rate, commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule. Days: 215
