Executive Director of School Leadership & Support

Primary

Purpose:

Lead and manage the instructional program, overseeing campus operations and personnel. Provide leadership to maintain high standards of instructional quality. Ensure adherence to district policies, monitor the success of instructional programs, and manage the operation of all campus activities.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

* Master's Degree in Educational Administration

* Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate

* Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraiser

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

* Working knowledge of curriculum development and instructional practices

* Ability to cultivate social emotional learning to ensure the well-being of all students

* Ability to effectively plan, organize and coordinate the management functions and activities of school operation

* Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, strategies, goals and objectives of public education

* Knowledge of procedures, techniques and strategies pertaining to the administration of school level operation

* Ability to handle multiple priorities with frequent interruptions

* Ability to effectively analyze problems, issues and concerns and formulate appropriate alternative solutions

* Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness

* Ability to manage budget and personnel

* Ability to interpret data

* Ability to understand and implement policy/procedures

* Excellent organizational, communication, public relations, presentation, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position

Experience:

* Minimum of three years of experience as a classroom teacher

* Campus level administrative experience required; elementary administrator experience preferred

* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable

Instructional Leadership

* Focuses calendars and time to address leadership and instructional priorities

* Leads focused planning processes with strategic monitoring of outcomes

* Productively manages change processes

* Ensures fidelity of implementation with state and district curricula and assessments

* Facilitates access to instructional resources and professional development

* Develops effective routines, instructional strategies, and experiences for all students

* Monitors multiple forms of data to guide instructional decisions and maximize performance

* Establish clear expectations for staff performance with regard to instructional strategies, classroom management, and communication with the public

* Uses data from various sources (e.g., student performance, surveys, assessments) to inform decisions and adjust strategies for continuous improvement

* Recruits, selects, assigns, and inducts highly effective educators

* Supports and retains highly effective educators

* Conducts rigorous, calibrated, and supported observations

* Select, train, supervise, and evaluate staff and make recommendations relative to assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal
