Montessori Toddler Class Lead Teacher

About This Role

A Montessori preschool in Allen is seeking a Lead Teacher for the Toddler Class (18 mon - 3 years), full-time.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement the curriculum.
• Establish a record-keeping system to track the children's progress.
• Facilitate a respectful environment for children and adults by advocating conflict resolution.
• Implement grace, courtesy, and character‑building lessons.
• Attend all faculty meetings and scheduled staff events.
• Will need to pass a background check and fingerprinting and CPR/First Aid certification.

• Previous experience with children in an early childhood education setting.
• Fluent in English.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Works well with children, parents, and other staff members.
• Physically capable to work with children on the floor and playground, as well as to lift children, materials, classroom furniture, and clean.
• A strong understanding of education, child development, and positive classroom management techniques.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

• Montessori certificate, or a Montessori certificate in progress
• Spanish or foreign language a plus

Discovery Montessori Academy is a trilingual Montessori school located with locations in Plano and Allen, Texas. We serve students from 6 weeks to 12 years old with a Montessori preschool and Kindergarten and an After School program for grades K‑5.
