This role is not about teaching. It is about motivation.
The most effective support you can offer a student who reaches 99% of their goal is to hold the line and refuse to call it complete. If that expectation feels uncomfortable, this role is not for you. If it energizes you because maintaining high standards is your way of showing students you believe in their capability, continue reading.
Alpha students complete academic learning through AI-driven applications. There are no lectures or textbooks. You will spend half your day facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops covering topics such as public speaking, focus, and constructive feedback. The remaining half involves working with students individually or in small groups, analyzing their progress via Coachbot analytics, and driving each one toward 100% completion of weekly app objectives.
You will not follow a rigid script—workshops provide a foundation, but top performers in this role customize them and create new content when gaps appear.
A successful quarter means every student in your cohort completes their weekly app goals, passes the Test2
Pass for all life-skills workshops, and 90%+ report they love you. Falling short on any of these three measures means the job has not been done. During your first year, you will internalize the playbook; once you demonstrate your ability to uphold these standards, progression to Lead Guide becomes possible, where you mentor new hires while continuing to work directly with students.
If you are drawn to traditional classroom teaching, prefer pre-packaged curriculum, or view warmth and rigor as incompatible, this position is not suitable. If your background includes athletic coaching, camp counseling, tutoring with refusal to let students quit, or performing for groups of young children, the final step before receiving an offer is spending a full day on campus coaching actual Alpha students.
If that prospect excites you most, submit your application today.
- Facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops for K-8 cohorts covering public speaking, focus, feedback, and other essential skills, modifying the playbook and creating new sessions when you identify unmet needs
- Conducting daily individual and small-group motivation sessions designed to drive every student to 100% completion of their weekly app goals, leveraging Coachbot analytics, Alpha's incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards), and your personal connection with each student to overcome resistance
- Delivering the Test2
Pass (Alpha's mastery-based assessment) for each life skill and coaching students who do not pass until mastery is achieved - Adjusting your coaching approach across a broad age spectrum, from kindergarteners requiring high energy and physical activity to 8th graders needing direct conversation and accountability
- Serving as the adult who maintains high expectations and whom students trust and want to engage with; warmth creates the foundation for pushing students, and that push demonstrates your belief in their potential
- Delivering whiteboard lectures; academic content is provided through the apps, not through direct instruction
- Creating curriculum from the ground up; your role is to animate an established playbook with energy and narrative skill
- Passively monitoring students on computers; motivation in this context is active, personalized, and continuous
- Reducing weekly goals to make them easier for a student to achieve; when a student falls behind, the solution is supporting the student, not adjusting the target
- Grading assignments, facilitating standardized test preparation, or handling parent communications;
Campus Leads manage parent-facing responsibilities, and the other tasks do not exist in this model
