This leadership position is responsible for managing a team of product engineering supervisors, engineers, and designers. The core focus is to oversee all design activities and outputs, ensuring departmental resources are prioritized and utilized effectively on a global scale. The role involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers, establishing and standardizing best practices and technical specifications, and interfacing with other departments at a management level to ensure clear communication and alignment.
Additionally, the position is responsible for training, development, and performance evaluation of subordinates to foster growth and optimize team performance.
- Managing product engineering supervisors, engineers, and designers.
- Overseeing design activity and output of the group, monitoring and communicating globally, and adjusting departmental activities and resources to meet product group needs.
- Developing and maintaining customer and supplier relationships, including visits and presentations.
- Establishing best practices and global standardization of design, engineering, and related technical specifications and procedures.
- Interfacing at a management level with all other departments to ensure expectations are clearly communicated.
- Coordinating and evaluating training for subordinates to ensure optimal employee growth and performance.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or related technical discipline)
- 8-12 years of engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
