Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Transport / Interconnect Engineer to support transport planning, provisioning, troubleshooting, and interconnect activities for wireless networks. Candidates with prior Verizon experience are strongly preferred due to their understanding of Verizon transport architecture, standards, workflows, and tools.
This role is based out of our Allen, TX office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support end-to-end transport and interconnect planning for wireless network elements (4G/5G).
- Work with fiber, microwave, IP backhaul, and core transport infrastructure.
- Perform circuit provisioning, path analysis, bandwidth planning, and capacity management.
- Coordinate with internal teams and Verizon (or other carriers) for interconnect approvals, assignments, and implementation.
- Troubleshoot transport issues including latency, throughput, routing, and physical layer failures.
- Validate and update transport designs, diagrams, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with transport standards, engineering guidelines, and MOPs.
- Support integration teams during new site turn-ups, carrier adds, and technology upgrades.
- Prepare reports, maintain records, and track transport milestones.
Required
Skills & Experience:
- Strong background in transport/interconnect engineering within wireless networks.
- Preferably Ex-Verizon (direct or vendor) with hands-on experience in Verizon transport tools, workflows, and processes.
- Solid understanding of IP, Ethernet, MPLS, Dark Fiber, Microwave, and CPRI/eCPRI.
- Experience with router/switch platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia) is a plus.
- Knowledge of circuit provisioning, routing protocols, backhaul design, and transport troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret fiber layouts, transport schematics, network diagrams, and MOPs.
- Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting U.S. carriers—especially Verizon.
- Familiarity with Verizon tools (e.g., VZW transport systems, EMUX, TCOMS, etc.).
- Understanding of 5G transport requirements (sync, latency, midhaul/backhaul design).
