Position Summary

Under direct supervision, ensures a pleasant experience for guests that have booked a birthday party in the recreation facility. This is accomplished by setting up the room for a party, setting out a cake, party favors, tableware, balloons, drinks, and food if needed, greeting guests; assisting guest(s) in serving food, party favors, and other tasks. This position does not provide direction to others.

Job Functions
  • Provides excellent customer service, addressing customers by phone and in-person.
  • Place timely and accurate cake orders based on customer specifications.
  • Prepares room for party by setting out cake, tableware, drinks, balloons and party favors.
  • Preparation and assisting in service of food along with various other tasks as needed.
  • Responsible for cleanup and restocking once parties are completed.
Job Requirements
  • Less than a High School Diploma or equivalent with no prior work experience.
  • First Aid/CPR certification required or ability to obtain within thirty (30) days from hire.
  • Food Handlers Certification required or ability to obtain within ninety (90) days from hire.

  • Modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
  • Providing outstanding customer service and conflict resolution.

  • Reading and understanding City, State and Federal rules and regulations.
  • Establishing and maintaining working relationships with the public, vendors, and City employees.
  • Effectively communicating in both oral and written format.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
  • Standard office environment with occasional outdoor.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds occasionally or negligible weight frequently.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
  • Ability to bend, climb, walk, and crouch.
  • Ability to operate athletic, Audio/Visual, and kiln equipment.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
