Salary: $3,504.08 biweekly.

The City of Allen seeks a Police Officer
- Recruit to protect and serve the city’s residents. Duties include patrolling, enforcing laws, making arrests, traffic enforcement, responding to incidents, community relations, and supporting other city departments.

• Patrol city and assigned districts on foot, bike, or vehicle to deter crime and respond to calls.
• Enforce traffic laws, make stops, search vehicles, issue citations, and file reports.
• Respond to motor vehicle accidents, clear the roadway, interview parties, document evidence, and file incident reports.
• Investigate crimes: interview witnesses, suspects, collect evidence, and coordinate with the District Attorney’s office.
• Maintain positive community relations through public assistance and outreach.

• Bachelor’s degree with GPA 2.0 or higher.
• OR 4 years of active‑duty military service with honorable discharge.
• OR current Allen Police Department employee with at least 2 years civilian experience, 30 college credits, and GPA 2.0 or higher.

• Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain Texas license).
• Eligibility for TCOLE certification.
• Minimum age 21.

• Pass pre‑employment screenings, CJIS and fingerprint checks, and comply with CEIS standards.
• Available to take the examination on Saturday, June 20, 2026 (or next cycle if unavailable).

• Must bring valid  test day; wear mandated attire.
• Must submit mandatory documents (driver’s license, insurance, SSN card, birth certificate, etc.) before the exam.

• Age 21+, US citizen, fluent in English.
• Meet one of the educational requirements listed above.
• Honorable military discharge or proof of eligibility.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
• No disqualifying criminal history.
• Good moral character, shift & weekend availability, and physical fitness meeting required standards.
• Visual and hearing standards per TCOLE.
