Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Key Responsibilities
- Material Movement:
Transport materials and components to and from workstations, storage areas, or loading docks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment. - Inventory Control:
Track material movement using scanners or inventory management systems; report discrepancies or shortages. - Receiving & Stocking:
Assist with receiving incoming shipments, checking for accuracy, and stocking materials in designated locations. - Kitting & Staging:
Prepare materials or kits for production based on work orders or pick lists. - Load & Unload:
Safely load and unload trucks and containers as needed. - Safety & Housekeeping:
Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area. - Team
Collaboration:
Communicate with production, shipping, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate and timely material flow.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks (certification a plus).
- Basic computer or scanner knowledge for inventory tracking.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Commitment to safety and teamwork in a fast‑paced environment.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.
- Work is performed in a warehouse or manufacturing setting where safety equipment is required.
- This position may require standing, lifting, walking, bending, and operating equipment throughout the shift.
