Family Ministry Coordinator Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church

Position Summary:The Family Ministry Coordinator provides coordination and support for the parish’s implementation of comprehensive ministry efforts to children and families, including Vacation Bible School and scheduled events. This position helps families to foster a love for our Catholic faith and for Jesus, primarily through the evangelization, formation, and empowerment of parents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: (other duties may be assigned)

• Attend regular staff meetings, ministry team meetings, and continuing education opportunities.
• Develop, plan, and execute Family Ministry events which includes working some evenings and weekends.
• Support Director of Children’s Ministry with weekly faith formation, which includes working Sundays.
• Be a resource person to parish staff on issues related to Family Ministry.
• Marketing and communication of Family Ministry activities and events.
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers for VBS and Family Ministry events.
• Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and councils to support the ongoing, long-term strategic visioning of Family Ministry and the parish.
• As a team, review programming opportunities regularly to address the changing needs of children and families in accord with the parish mission and vision.
• Coordinate and implement yearly Vacation Bible School program.
• Ensure that diocesan safe environment policies are followed.
• Support Director of Children’s Ministry with registration, attendance, sacramental record keeping, accountability, and other administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with Director of Children’s Ministry to develop an annual budget and operate within the constraints of that budget.
• Support Director of Children’s Ministry regarding sacrament preparation (retreats), the First Reconciliation service, the First Holy Communion Mass, and reception.
• Support the Director of Adult Faith Formation with wedding ceremony planning and payment tracking.
