Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical Department – Full Time Days

Work Hours:
(Days) 7:00 am-7:00 pm, Full-time, (3) 12-hour shifts, weekends and holidays required
Medical Surgical Department Highlights
- 25-bed unit
- Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
- Fast-Paced, high-volume department cases: include post-surgery care including ortho, spine, plastics, general surgery and general medical overflow patients
- The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs.
- Nursing Diploma or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
- BSN preferred
- One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program
- One Year Of Medical Surgical Experience Strongly Preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 Days Req
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
