Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical Tele Department – Full Time Nights

Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Surgical Department – Full Time Nights

Work location:

1105 Central Expressway North, Allen TX 75013

Work Hours:

(Days) 7:00 pm-7:00 am, Full‑time, (3) 12‑hour shifts, weekends and holidays required

Medical Surgical Department Highlights
  • 25‑bed unit
  • Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
  • Fast‑Paced, high‑volume department cases: include post‑surgery care including ortho, spine, plastics, general surgery and general medical overflow patients.
  • The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs.
Here’s What You Need
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
  • BSN preferred
  • One‑year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program
  • One Year Of Medical Surgical Experience Strongly Preferred
  • Registered Nurse (RN) upon hire
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) prior to independent patient care, maintained quarterly
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training within 60 days
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days
What You Will Do
  • Deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assess the patient
  • Plan the care of the patient
  • Intervene as appropriate
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporate age‑specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
  • Initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others’ need for information
  • Maintain continuity of patient care inter‑shift, inter‑hospital, and while expediting out‑of‑hospital transfers
