Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgery

Texas Health Allen, 1105 Central Expwy North, TX 75013

Work Hours:

Full Time – 40 Hours/week;
Monday-Friday 11:00am-7:00pm with on‑call requirements.

• Fast‑paced, high‑volume department
• The professional nurse exhibits an understanding of basic human needs.
• The professional nurse demonstrates recognition and understanding of the patient’s affiliations.

• Associate degree in Nursing required, or Nursing Diploma.
• BSN preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program (required).
• Preferred: 1 year of experience as a registered nurse in the operating room.
• Preferred: CNOR certification.
• RN license required at hire.
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required at hire.

• Deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
• Perform OR RN surgery circulator duties and skills.
• Assess patient.
• Plan patient care.
• Intervene as appropriate.
• Evaluate effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporate age‑specific safety and infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiate action to meet patient and/or significant others’ need for information.
• Maintain continuity of patient care inter‑shift, inter‑hospital, and while expediting out‑of‑hospital transfers.
