1105 Central Expressway North, Allen TX 75013

Work Hours:

Days 7:00 am-7:00 pm, Full-time, (3) 12-hour shifts, weekends and holidays required

Medical Surgical Department Highlights
  • 25-bed unit
  • Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
  • Fast-Paced, high-volume department cases: include post-surgery care including ortho, spine, plastics, general surgery and general medical overflow patients.
  • The professional nurse exhibits understanding of basic human needs.
Requirements
  • Holds a Nursing Diploma or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
  • BSN preferred
  • One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
  • One year of medical surgical experience strongly preferred.
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required.
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 days required.
  • ACL – Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 days required.
What You Will Do
  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant other’s need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
