Overview
Texas Oncology is looking for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team! This full‑time position will support the Allen location in the Medical Oncology department. Typical hours are Mon‑Fri 8:30 am‑5 pm.
This position will be either a level 1, 2 or Sr based on candidate experience.

What does the Advanced Practice Provider do?The primary role of the APP is to provide direct diagnostic and therapeutic patient care in collaboration with practice physicians, impacting quality of care and outcomes throughout the continuum. APPs support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients.
- Initiate and document appropriate interventions; evaluate and record patient/family response and prescribe therapies as indicated.
- Perform procedures after appropriate training.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide education.
- Promote wellness and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Incorporate evidence‑based research into clinical practice.
- Develop knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
- Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
- Provide case management for patients and families, given limited knowledge of community resources.
- Provide staff education.
- Rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after‑hour calls, as assigned.

Candidate should have a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a Physician Assistant program completion, with 0‑3 years post‑degree experience, preferred specialty. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Clinical Nurse Specialist and current BLS/CPR certification are required. RN state licensure and registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state are also required.
Physical DemandsFull range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods. Occasionally lifts items up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
Work EnvironmentExposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
