Job Summary

The SHEQ Coordinator is responsible for supporting and maintaining Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) programs within the Epiroc Distribution Center. This role partners closely with warehouse operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to ensure safe material handling, regulatory compliance, and adherence to quality standards across all inbound, storage, and outbound activities. The position plays a key role in driving a proactive safety culture and ensuring audit readiness at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Enforce safety policies related to warehouse operations, including forklift operation, racking systems, and material handling.
  • Conduct daily/weekly floor audits, safety inspections, and behavioral observations.
  • Lead incident investigations (injuries, near misses, equipment damage) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with supervisors to ensure compliance with LOTO, PPE, and equipment safety requirements.
  • Monitor contractor and visitor safety compliance within the facility.
  • Track and report safety KPIs (TRIR, near misses, corrective actions).
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of oils, batteries, and hazardous materials common in heavy equipment parts distribution.
  • Monitor waste management programs (scrap metal, packaging materials, recycling initiatives).
  • Maintain environmental compliance documentation and support inspections.
  • Support Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Conduct process audits on receiving, picking, packing, and shipping to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Track non-conformances (damaged goods, picking errors, shipment discrepancies) and drive root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with operations to improve inventory accuracy and reduce errors.
  • Maintain all SHEQ records including inspections, training logs, incident reports, and audit documentation.
  • Lead internal audits and support external audits (ISO, corporate, regulatory).
  • Ensure procedures and SOPs are current and reflect actual warehouse practices.
  • Support implementation of corporate SHEQ initiatives and standards.
  • Conduct new hire safety orientation specific to warehouse hazards and equipment.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and ongoing SHEQ training (forklift safety, ergonomics, hazard communication).
  • Promote employee engagement in safety programs, including near-miss reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a liaison between operations and leadership on SHEQ matters.
Knowledge/Education
  • Minimum of 5 years of SHEQ/EHS experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment. (MUST)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Logistics, or related field (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards related to material handling, powered industrial trucks, and warehouse safety.
  • Experience with ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations (WMS systems, inventory processes) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent
  • ISO Internal Auditor (9001 / 14001 / 45001)
