Under the direction of the Donation Center Manager, the Donation Attendant Lead is responsible for greeting donors, processing donations, and ensuring exceptional donor service across assigned donation locations. In addition to performing core Donation Attendant duties, this role provides day-to-day oversight, guidance, and support to Donation Attendants, assists with training and performance monitoring, and helps coordinate and monitor operations at additional donation sites as assigned.
The Donation Attendant Lead models excellent customer service, reinforces Goodwill standards, and serves as a reliable point of contact when management is not onsite.
- Greet each donor/customer with a courteous, friendly, and professional attitude.
- Receive donations politely and professionally, issue donation receipts accurately.
- Assist donors with lifting items in and out of vehicles.
- Sort donations into appropriate categories and determine quality.
- Sort and price miscellaneous hard goods as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in the donation area, stockroom, production area, and/or trailer.
- Adhere to dress code and maintain a well-groomed appearance, including wearing a name badge.
- Serve as a role model for customer service best practices and donor engagement.
- Monitor staff coverage, workflow, and productivity to ensure donations are processed efficiently.
- Reinforce safety practices, CPSC procedures, and Goodwill policies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Donation Attendants during shifts when management is unavailable.
- Responsible for performing their assigned duties within the framework of our Core Principles.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with established donation processes, including the timely opening and closing of donation sites.
- Attending in-service and related duties as assigned by Management.

- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to coach, guide, and support team members positively.
- Knowledge of retail, donation operations, and/or stock handling.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to follow directions, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing needs.
- Ability to remain calm and solution-focused in emergency or high-volume situations.
- Familiarity with garment classification (e.g., gowns, shirts, pants).
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
