Primary
Purpose:
Repair and maintain doors and door hardware district wide.
Assist installing, adjusting, repairing, and opening locks for District facilities and furnishing. Maintain facilities and equipment in such a manner that no disruption occurs to the instructional program.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Valid Texas Driver's License
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
* Knowledge of basic routine maintenance and repair procedures
* Ability to operate hand and power tools
* Ability to work independently
Experience:
* Two years' experience in door and lock repair, maintenance
* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable
Major
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Assist installing, adjusting, repairing, and opening locks for District facilities
* Assist changing lock combinations and making keys
* Assist maintaining and repairing doors, door hardware, and closure mechanisms
* Completes work orders assigned by the Locksmith
* Assists implemented preventative maintenance program for lock and door systems and equipment. Work with Locksmith to utilize maintenance management system to schedule and monitor PM program.
* Assist other maintenance personnel as required and directed by supervisor.
* Performs other duties as the superintendent may assign.
* Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
* Able to prioritize and manage multi-functional tasks.
* Able to work effectively under pressure and against time restraints.
* Ability to use power and hand tools.
* Must be able to travel to various work-site locations on demand.

* Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl and reach for extended periods of time.
* Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and odors. Exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. Work around moving objects or vehicles.
* May work prolonged or irregular hours with frequent district wide travel.
* Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
* Must be able to work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress.
* Must be able to work independently and without direct supervision.
* Must be able to work with power tools (drill, saw, etc.), hand tools, welder (gas and electric air), ladders, lifts.
* Must be able to use standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals.
Salary:
Pay Grade OS03, $16.75- $19.77 hourly rate, commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule. Days: 261
