Supplier Quality Engineer | Allendale, MI

Salary Range: $81,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supplier quality management strategies and processes.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues and non-conformances.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define supplier quality requirements and specifications.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for supplier performance and quality.
• Monitor and report on key supplier quality metrics and performance indicators.
• Manage the Approved Supplier List (ASL) and supplier qualification processes.
• Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers on quality-related matters.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 3+ years experience in quality engineering, supplier quality, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and tools (e.g., FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC).
• Proven ability to conduct supplier audits, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and their impact on product quality.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced quality planning (AQP) tools like APQP, PPAP, MSA, and FMEA.
• Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
• Proficient in data analysis software such as Minitab or JMP.
• Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems like SAP or Oracle.
