Job Details

We are seeking a Controller to lead all accounting and financial reporting functions, with a critical focus on Medicare reporting and regulatory compliance within a healthcare environment. This role requires a strong technical foundation and the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on. The ideal candidate will bring deep healthcare accounting expertise and a thorough understanding of reimbursement and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting
• Lead and manage Medicare and cost reporting processes, ensuring full regulatory compliance
• Manage multi-entity consolidations and intercompany transactions
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and healthcare-specific regulatory requirements
• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting policies
• Partner with leadership on financial performance, budgeting, and operational insights
• Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team

Required Qualifications

• CPA required
• Healthcare industry experience required (hospital, health system, rehabilitation, post-acute, or similar)
• Direct experience with Medicare reporting and/or cost reports
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, consolidations, and audit
• Proven ability to lead while remaining hands-on
• Experience in a multi-entity or complex organizational structure

• Accounting leader with deep experience in Medicare reimbursement and reporting
• CPA with healthcare-focused public accounting experience and exposure to cost reporting
