Accountant, Financial Reporting

Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting functions, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close activities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare and post journal entries

+ Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

+ Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger accounts

+ Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies

+ Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed

+ Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and account reconciliations

+ Assist with financial reporting and management reporting packages

+ Support annual audits and provide requested documentation

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls

+ Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required

+ 1-3+ years of accounting experience preferred

+ Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs

+ Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

+

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics, or Sage

+ Manufacturing, distribution, or public accounting experience a plus

+ CPA candidate or plans to pursue CPA certification preferred

+

Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
