Job Summary

Geisinger Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Infectious Disease provider to join our expanding in the Western Region at State College, PA. • Diagnose and manage infectious diseases of all types and in all organ systems, including conditions requiring the selective use of antibiotics.
• Interview patients to obtain comprehensive information such as symptoms, medical histories, and family histories.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic tests as clinically indicated.
• Design and implement treatment plans for injuries and/or illnesses; prescribe or administer medications as appropriate.
• Prepare, maintain, and review patient records, including histories, examination findings, treatment plans, and outcomes.
• Care for patients with AIDS, unexplained fevers, and those requiring preventive medicine or travel-related health expertise.

• Primarily inpatient care with 1-2 clinical days per week.
• Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment.

• Board certified or board eligible in Infectious Disease.
• Demonstrated commitment to patient care and safety.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.

• Completion of residency and fellowship in Infectious Disease.
• Valid and unrestricted medical license.
• Prior experience managing complex infectious disease cases is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
