The Department of Nutrition at Cedar Crest College invites applications for a full-time faculty position, with a rank open at the levels of Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor, depending upon the successful candidate's qualifications and experience and eligible for the tenure-track. This position is a 12-month appointment. We seek a dedicated, student-centered educator to join our dynamic team and contribute to undergraduate, Dietetic Internship (DI), and master's-level programs.

Cedar Crest's Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) has achieved a 100% first-time pass rate on the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Registration Examination from 2023 to present, reflecting the program's strong academic quality and commitment to student success.

Responsibilities

* Deliver high-quality instruction in nutrition and dietetics courses at both the undergraduate and, where qualifications are appropriate, at the graduate level

* Advise and mentor students across academic programs, as with advising individual students and potentially student clubs, as with the Student Dietetic Association (SDA)

* Contribute to curriculum development and program accreditation activities, for example as in overseeing the Nutrition minor and other curricular needs

* Engage in scholarly activities and service to the College, as appropriate to rank

* Meet the other responsibilities and expectations of Cedar Crest College faculty members outlined in the Faculty Handbook

* Oversee the Nutrition Minor

* Serve as Faculty Advisor to the Student Dietetic Association (SDA)

Education

* Master's degree in Nutrition or an appropriate related field required at a minimum

* Terminal degree (Ph.D. or nutrition-related practice doctorate) preferred, particularly for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank

Credentials

* Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)

Experience

* Minimum of five (5) years credentialed as an RDN

* Prior teaching experience, preferred, although the Department invites experienced nutrition practitioners interested beginning in education; the commitment to become an effective educator of our students is required

* Teaching experience in an ACEND-accredited dietetics program preferred

Specialization

* Generalist with demonstrated expertise in community nutrition and health promotion

Teaching

* Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate, Dietetic Internship (DI), and graduate-level courses

* Evidence of effectiveness in online and HyFlex instruction, including innovative, high-impact teaching practices that support student engagement and learning outcomes across modalities
