Salary: $22.83 Per Hour

Bensalem Township School District is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a general education classroom with a focus on literacy and student learning at Faust Elementary for the school year
. The Teaching Assistant will work under the direction of certified staff to provide individual and small-group instructional support, reinforce literacy skills, assist with classroom activities, and help students remain engaged and successful in their learning.

• Minimum of 48 college credits, an associate degree, PA-approved certification, or higher
  .
• Experience working with elementary-age students preferred.
• Experience supporting reading, writing, phonics, or other literacy skills preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students individually and in small groups.
• Ability to follow teacher direction and work collaboratively as part of a classroom team.
• Ability to maintain a positive, supportive, and professional classroom environment.

• Provide individual and small-group support in reading, writing, phonics, and other literacy activities
  .
• Reinforce skills and concepts taught by the classroom teacher.
• Assist students with independent work and guided practice.
• Support classroom instruction and student engagement.
• Help students stay on task and develop positive learning habits.
• Assist with classroom activities, instructional materials, and student supervision.
• Monitor student progress and communicate observations to the classroom teacher.
• Support students during literacy centers, intervention activities, and other instructional settings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. The position may require walking, standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, and occasionally lifting or moving items up to 10 pounds.
