Verdantas is seeking a
** Civil Staff Engineer III
** to join our growing team of engineers, planners, and environmental specialists in either the
** Wilkes-Barre, PA, or Harrisburg, PA
** office.

This role is ideal for a technically driven professional who thrives in a supportive, people‑centered culture and is passionate about advancing sustainable energy infrastructure. As a Civil Staff Engineer III, you will contribute to the planning, design, and execution of energy‑focused civil engineering projects. Your work will support renewable energy development, grid modernization, and site engineering efforts across a variety of project types.

* What You’ll Do:
*** Develop grading, drainage, and stormwater management designs
* Prepare erosion and sediment control plans
* Support utility coordination and access road layout for energy facilities
* Conduct feasibility studies and site evaluations
* Perform engineering calculations and constructability assessments
* Prepare engineering drawings, design reports, and technical documentation
* Support permitting efforts, including SWPPP, NPDES, and local land‑use approvals
* Analyze terrain, hydrology, and environmental constraints
* Integrate CAD and GIS data to optimize site layouts and project footprints
* Conduct site visits, collect field data, and verify existing conditions
* Coordinate with geotechnical and environmental teams to support design inputs
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Verdantas
* Participate in QA/QC reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
** What You Bring**:
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
* 5-10 years of civil engineering experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure
* E.I.T required, PE preferred
* Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
* Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools (Hydro
CAD, HEC‑RAS)
* Strong understanding of permitting pathways for energy and land development
* Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
* Ability to manage tasks independently while supporting multiple project managers
** Salary Range:
** The compensation range for this position is $86,000 - $92,000, with final compensation determined based on years of experience, qualifications, and licensing status.
