About the CompanyOur client is a global manufacturer of industrial machinery, operating internationally across North America, EMEA, and LATAM, with a strong market position in the US.
They design, build, and commission highly automated equipment for a wide range of industries worldwide.
You’ll join a fast-growing US commissioning team (25–30 engineers), with full support, structured onboarding, and international exposure.
Training is provided both in Spain (initial weeks) and in the US, alongside experienced local engineers.
The RoleThis is a hands‑on Setup & Commissioning Engineer role, focused on machine startup, PLC programming, and on‑site commissioning at customer facilities worldwide.
It is not a plant maintenance or office‑based automation role — this position is for engineers who enjoy travel, customer interaction, and solving real technical challenges on site.
You will report to the US Commercial Director and the Project Managers.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and commission automated machinery at customer sites
- PLC programming using Ladder Logic and Structured Text
- Work with major PLC platforms:
Rockwell, Siemens, B&R - Configure communication buses, VFDs, and industrial networks
- Manage upstream/downstream interlocks with third‑party equipment
- Read and interpret electrical schematics
- Support pre‑commissioning at HQ and lead machine startup on site
- Train operators and supervisors once equipment is installed
- Work closely with Project Managers to ensure on‑time project delivery
- 2–5 years of experience in automation setup / commissioning
- Strong PLC programming skills (Structured Text highly preferred)
- Hands‑on experience commissioning machines at customer sites
- Comfortable working independently in the field
- Experience with servomotors, robotics
- OEM or machinery manufacturer background
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Industrial, Electrical, or related Engineering
- Spanish: highly appreciated
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Valid driver’s license and passport
- US work authorization (citizenship, visa, or permanent residence)
