Position: Mechanical Integrity Engineer

Location: Valley Green, PA

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Integrity Engineer to join our Cable Backplane Connector team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop new products and processes via mechanical testing and qualification of electrical connectors and components.
  • Develop test sequences and procedures to determine the long‑term reliability of electrical connectors that factor in customer use and application requirements.
  • Process and analyze testing results, and create reports and presentations for internal and external customers.
  • Support the product design effort in mechanical analysis such as tolerance analysis, FEA, materials analysis, failure analysis and creating test plans.
  • Prepare test samples and test requests, design and fabricate test fixtures, interface with test lab technicians.
  • Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and manufacturing personnel, supporting the development and validation of product prototypes through pilot production, as well as interfacing with beta‑site customers.
Qualifications
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 Years of professional experience
  • Experience with solid modeling tools - Pro/E and/or Solid Works
  • Experience with data analysis software, MS Excel, Minitab would be a plus
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools desirable, ANSYS experience would be a plus
  • Understand how to replicate international standards for testing
  • Understanding of electrical systems and electrical connectors
  • Understand how to perform failure analysis, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA
  • Ability to communicate with technical & non‑technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Desire to create and design new products and processes
  • Knowledge of copper alloys and high‑performance engineering thermoplastics would be a plus
