Chemical Engineer Intern

Heidelberg Materials seeks a Chemical Engineer Intern to support manufacturing operations in a safety-focused, high-performance environment. You will assist engineers with process monitoring, data collection, and analysis to improve cement and materials production. Responsibilities include running lab tests, documenting results, supporting quality and sustainability initiatives, and participating in safety and continuous improvement projects. This role offers hands-on plant experience, mentorship, and exposure to real-world process challenges in a collaborative, learning-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with monitoring and optimizing manufacturing processes for cement and building materials
• Collect, analyze, and interpret process and quality data to support decision-making
• Conduct laboratory tests and experiments following safety and quality protocols
• Document test methods, results, and recommendations in clear technical reports
• Support safety initiatives and participate in toolbox talks and safety audits
• Contribute to continuous improvement and sustainability projects in the plant
• Collaborate with operations, quality, and maintenance teams on troubleshooting
• Learn and apply process simulation or data analysis tools as directed by mentors
