Financial Analyst, Risk Manager/Analyst
Description
Credit Analysts are committed and significantly influential to the commercial lending process, assisting business development officers and members of management to make timely lending decisions that are beneficial to the Bank. In this position, a credit analyst reviews and analyzes business financial statements, personal financials, credit bureaus, debt schedules, collateral values, and industry trends to prepare concise and accurate reports for approval by management.
Senior analysts may be asked to support in the training of junior analysts, as well as to assist department management in preparing reports for Senior Management.
Below is a list of essential functions of this position. Additional responsibilities may be assigned in the position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Analyze Business and personal financial statements
- Analyze Collateral Coverage
- Prepare Presentation Reports for Management to Decision Potential New Loans
- Prepare Reports for the Annual Review of Revolving Lines of Credit

- Credit Analyst I - Primary handles the underwriting of smaller loan requests
- Credit Analyst II - Continues work on smaller loan requests, but can proficiently and consistently produce quality work on mid-level loan requests
- Credit Analyst III - Primarily handles the larges loan requests that go to Loan Committee, but may be called to work on mid level and smaller loans as needed.
Actively participate in expanding skill sets and career paths by attending training programs, workshops, certifications, and educational resources relevant to the role. The type and scope of these opportunities will be discussed with the department manager when appropriate.
RequirementsTo perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential position requirement satisfactorily and a skills inventory is listed below. A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required, secondary education (i.e. Associates Degree or higher) is preferred. Prior analyst experience is not required but it preferred. A background screening will be conducted.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE- LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret documents. Possesses professional communication and interpersonal skills to write and speak effectively both one-on-one and before groups of clients or employees of the organization. Ability to communicate to clients directly and effectively. - TECHNOLOGY
SKILLS:
Ability to utilize telephone systems and possess good digital literacy including email, internet and intranet use. Prior experience or the ability to learn core transaction system, loan origination system and any other computer programs pertinent to performing job duties. - MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to calculate and understand financial ratios. Ability to calculate and understand cash flow. - REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
