Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of In Vivo Pharmacology to lead and advance in vivo pharmacology efforts across our preclinical pipeline. This individual will provide scientific and strategic leadership for the design, execution, and interpretation of in vivo studies that support target validation, lead optimization, and IND-enabling activities. The Director will work cross-functionally with biology, chemistry, translational, PK, toxicology, and clinical teams to drive programs from discovery through development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategy, design, and execution of in vivo pharmacology studies to support discovery and development programs for Oncology and Immunology.
  • Oversee disease-relevant efficacy, PK/PD, MOA, and biomarker studies across multiple therapeutic programs.
  • Ensure high scientific rigor, reproducibility, and data quality in all in vivo experiments.
  • Manage internal in vivo pharmacology team, including hiring, mentoring, and performance development.
  • Coordinate and manage external CROs and academic collaborations.
  • Partner closely with biology, PK toxicology, and translational teams to guide compound selection and development decisions.
  • Contribute to IND-enabling packages, regulatory documents, and scientific presentations.
  • Establish and refine in vivo assay platforms, models, and best practices.
  • Provide clear data interpretation and recommendations to program teams and senior leadership.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Pharmacology, Biology, Immunology, Oncology, or a related field or MS/BS with 15 + years of industry experience leading in vivo pharmacology teams, with at least 5-10 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Deep expertise in designing and interpreting in vivo efficacy and PK/PD studies
  • Strong background in relevant disease models (e.g., oncology, immunology, inflammation, or rare disease)
  • Experience supporting IND-enabling studies and regulatory interactions is strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple programs in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with biologics, cell therapies, or novel therapeutic modalities
  • Hands-on experience with translational biomarkers and human relevance strategies
  • Prior CRO oversight and budget management experience
