Technical Manager
Our client, an IT Services and Consultant company, is looking for a Technical Manager for their Allentown, PA/Remote location.
Responsibilities include:
- Technical Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and coordinate technical work across multiple systems, applications, and integrations
- Guide development and support teams on design approaches, coding standards, and best practices
- Quickly come up to speed on new technologies and provide informed technical direction
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned to enterprise standards
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between IT and business stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business-friendly language
- Partner with business teams to understand processes, pain points, and desired outcomes
- Contribute to solution design that balances technical feasibility with business needs
- Solution Design & Decision Support
- Provide technical input into requirements, architecture decisions, and backlog prioritization
- Evaluate trade-offs, risks, and impacts across systems and integrations
- Drive decisions that minimize technical debt while maximizing long-term value
- Team Enablement & Oversight
- Mentor and guide developers, analysts, and support teams in a collaborative environment
- Ensure vendor partners and contract resources deliver against expectations and standards
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
- Operational Excellence
- Support development and maintenance of technical documentation, runbooks, and support models
- Lead root cause analysis and drive resolution of complex issues
- Ensure enhancements, fixes, and integrations are properly tested and validated
- Support UAT cycles and production readiness activities
- Process & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and waste reduction
- Contribute to process roadmaps and modernization efforts
- Promote Agile delivery practices and iterative improvement
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in application development, systems integration, or enterprise technology environments
- Proven experience leading technical teams across multiple systems or platforms
- Strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and business domains
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language
- Strong understanding of how business processes drive technical requirements and decisions
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Self-motivated and effective in remote or distributed team environments
- Exposure to automation and job scheduling tools (e.g., Automic or similar)
- Experience supporting large-scale system implementations, migrations, or modernization efforts such as Service Now or ERP systems
- 14+ years of experience
