Position OverviewThe Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in ensuring reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all mobile and fixed plant equipment at the site. This position oversees a team of approximately 7-10 maintenance employees, providing daily direction, prioritization, and hands‑on support to optimize equipment uptime and operational productivity. Serving as the key driver of maintenance planning, preventive maintenance execution, shutdown coordination, and continuous improvement efforts, the supervisor ensures that all maintenance activities meet CRH and MSHA safety standards while supporting cost‑effective operation of the facility.
Working closely with plant leadership and cross‑functional teams, this role also evaluates equipment performance, recommends improvements, partners with vendors and contractors, and helps guide long‑term maintenance strategy for the location

- Establishes, communicates, and assigns job responsibilities, goals, and performance standards for employees within the Maintenance Department
- Implement and lead continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
- Efficiently manage operating budget while focusing upon optimization and reduction of site costs.
- Continually inspects and evaluates plant and mobile equipment of the facility for effectiveness.
- Affects job performance through motivation, establishing goals and providing feedback.
- Collaborates and coordinates with other department management regarding maintenance projects and priorities.
- Coordinates with management on priorities and schedules for plant projects not necessarily directly related to plant equipment operation.
- Reviews, plans, schedules, and supervises all maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance activities for the site.
- Responsible for development and execution of major shutdown schedules, real time updates and post shutdown critiques.
- Administers and reviews plant lubrication schedules and modifies as equipment changes or is replaced.
- Recommends equipment modification to management.
- Obtains, coordinates, and supervises the work of contractors as required for specified repairs.
- Meets with vendors regarding new maintenance equipment and other supplies needed for executing maintenance responsibilities.
- Specifies engineering data and solicits competitive pricing on purchase of major equipment and parts.
- Compiles records and data regarding maintenance projects and prepares reports for management on same.
- Supervises and directs activities of the maintenance and storeroom personnel.
- Ensures that maintenance personnel comply with plant and MSHA safety rules and regulations.
- Assists in developing annual budget and implementing the approved budget.
- Ensures proper training is conducted for new department employees and existing employees as needed.
- Performs other job-related duties as needed.
