Role OverviewThe Refrigeration Technician is responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of refrigeration systems that are critical to maintaining product quality and facility operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for mechanically inclined individuals interested in developing a career in industrial refrigeration.
Working alongside experienced refrigeration professionals, you will gain hands‑on experience with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems, preventative maintenance programs, system monitoring, and facility support while contributing to a safe and efficient operation.

Full-Time | Refrigeration Department | On-Site
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance activities and maintain accurate maintenance and system records
- Inspect, monitor, and assist in troubleshooting refrigeration equipment to ensure efficient operation
- Respond promptly to facility service calls and equipment issues
- Support repairs and maintenance of refrigeration systems and related equipment
- Monitor system performance and report concerns or abnormalities to leadership
- Maintain a safe work environment by following company safety policies and procedures
- Participate in food safety and quality initiatives by immediately addressing any concerns that could impact product safety or quality
- Assist with departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow established housekeeping standards
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and sanitation teams to support facility needs
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous industrial maintenance, refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or related experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial refrigeration systems
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety procedures, and operating instructions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience working in industrial refrigeration, HVAC, manufacturing, or food production environments
- RETA certification or willingness to obtain certification through company-sponsored training
- Hazmat training or experience working with regulated systems
- Knowledge of electrical motor controls, PLCs, or industrial automation systems
- Mechanical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs
- Regular movement throughout the facility, including walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working from elevated areas
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of tools, equipment, and materials
- Routine work in hot, cold, wet, humid, and noisy environments
- Exposure to moving mechanical equipment and industrial machinery
- Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting as needed
This position operates in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, wet and humid conditions, elevated work areas, vibration, noise, and varying temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas.
