About the Role:
The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations within the facility to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective production. This role requires leading cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes, implement lean manufacturing principles, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The Plant Manager will manage production schedules, quality control, and resource allocation to meet customer demands and company objectives.
A key focus will be on reducing operational costs while maintaining high standards of product quality and employee safety. Ultimately, the Plant Manager will ensure the plant operates at peak performance, contributing to the overall success and growth of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing operations with at least 3 years in a plant management role.
- Proven expertise in lean manufacturing and process engineering.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding and assembly plant operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Implement and sustain lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Oversee process engineering and injection molding operations to optimize throughput and product quality.
- Manage assembly plant activities, including workforce planning, training, and performance management.
- Develop and execute cost reduction strategies while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain, maintenance, and quality assurance to resolve operational issues.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports for senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance manufacturing processes and equipment utilization.
Skills:
The required skills such as manufacturing operations, lean manufacturing, and plant management are applied daily to oversee and optimize production workflows, ensuring efficiency and quality. Process engineering and injection molding expertise enable the Plant Manager to troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes, reducing downtime and defects. Skills in assembly plant management and manufacturing operations management are critical for coordinating teams, scheduling production, and maintaining safety standards.
Cost reduction skills are utilized to identify waste, negotiate with suppliers, and implement energy-saving initiatives that improve the plant’s profitability. Preferred skills like Lean Six Sigma certification and experience with automation further enhance the ability to lead continuous improvement projects and adopt innovative manufacturing technologies.
