Nurse Aide

The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) is seeking empathetic, dynamic Nurse Aides with active registration in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry to provide superior nursing care to residents at the southeastern Veterans' Center.

• Distribute meal trays
• Apply safety devices and report data such as vital signs
• Transport and escort residents to outside appointments as necessary
• Maintain a safe environment and strictly follow infection control procedures and universal health care precautions
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss treatment plans

• Full-time employment, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• Work hours will be determined from the following shifts, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work rotating weekends and holidays.
  • 1st shift (6 :45 AM to 3 :15 PM)
  • 2nd shift (3 :00 PM to 11 :30 PM)
  • 3rd shift (11 :15 PM to 7 :45 AM)

  You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary:
  In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
• DMVA is pleased to announce the launch of a Nursing Referral Program, promoting the hiring and retention of nursing staff at Pennsylvania’s veterans homes. Under this program, both referring employees and referred candidates may be eligible for payments of up to $4,000.

• Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry
• Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents
• This position is assigned to a long‑term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry

• You must be able to perform essential job functions

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance
