Geisinger is proud to offer a Graduate Inpatient RN position with up to $21,000 hiring incentive for eligible candidates! Minimum hiring rate is $41.41 per hour, with increased rates for experienced individuals and up to $7 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
Job Duties- Graduate Nurses are hired into the following units at GWV, based on availability:
- Advanced Acute Care Units – Surgical Oncology, Med Tele, Trauma, Cardio/Stroke, Teaching Tele, Orthopedic Trauma Surgical
- Advanced Acute Care Float Pool
- Henry Cancer Center – Oncology Unit
- Cardiac Special Care Unit
- Electrophysiology Unit
- Emergency Department Observation Unit
- Labor & Delivery Unit
- Tambur Family NICU Unit
- Janet Weis Pediatrics Unit
- Progressive Care Unit
- Intensive Care Unit
- Operating Room
Geisinger Wyoming Valley is expanding with 22 new emergency treatment rooms, a dedicated behavioral health space in the ER, 24 new ICU beds, 6 new operating rooms, new cardiac catheterization labs, 2 structural heart rooms, expanded clinic space and cardiac imagery, 100% private rooms transition, and 58 new medical/surgical inpatient beds. Phase one focuses on the bed tower and adjacent base, renovating the current ER;
expected completion is 2028.

- Coordinates patient care and staff interactions.
- Ensures patient and family experience is optimized through all interactions.
- Completes assessments according to scope of practice and unit standards.
- Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs throughout the continuum of care.
- Formulates, coordinates, and provides plan of care, including education, family needs, and discharge planning, with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provides direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies per policy and procedure.
- Evaluates effectiveness of interventions and revises plan of care based on patient response.
- Initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to resolve needs proactively.
- Problem‑solves equipment handling issues and takes corrective measures.
- Participates in unit decision‑making regarding utilization of evidence‑based practice.
- Acts as a team member toward unit and organization goals, accountable for unit and system metrics.
- Participates in patient quality and safety education programs to improve departmental and organizational quality.
- Works in a clinical environment, satisfying all job‑specific obligations and complying with organization policies and procedures.
