You help monitor health needs and assist with tasks that support daily care activities.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role supports individualized care plans by assisting licensed professionals with daily health and hygiene routines for inmates. As a Nurse Aide, you will perform the following duties:
- Health Monitoring:
Check and record vital signs and observe daily health patterns - Personal Care:
Assist inmates with bathing, dressing, hygiene, and mobility needs - Comfort Support:
Provide lifting, positioning, transferring, and skin care to support well-being and safety - Escort Assistance:
Help transport wheelchair inmates to medical lines, tests, and consultations - Record Keeping:
Document care activities, retrieve information, and maintain accurate health records - Supply Maintenance:
Sterilize equipment and manage inventory to support daily operations
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- 1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM; 2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM; and 3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- You will have rotating days off.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
- Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
- This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
