About This Role

The Per Diem Utilization Management Registered Nurse will review and extract pertinent case details from patient medical records and craft appeal letters according to departmental guidelines. This role is ideal for nurses looking for flexible work arrangements while ensuring high-quality reviews.

  Per Diem as needed, flexible start times
• Residency:
  No residency required

• Compose appeal letters with appropriate data extraction and proper grammar
• Utilize appeal tools and include medical literature references
• Understand and comply with HIPAA confidentiality requirements
• Support and promote OPAS, Optum, and enterprise goals
• Build relationships across Optum, OPAS, OGA, and clients
• Collaborate with peers to ensure continuity of communication
• Adhere to quality and productivity expectations
  
  Participate in and contribute to meetings as appropriate
• Maintain organization and professionalism within the team
• Stay updated with learning modules, competencies, and state-required licenses
• Perform other related duties as required by leadership

• Associate's degree required

• 3+ years of bedside nursing experience in ED/telemetry/ICU/CCU required

• Unrestricted Registered Nurse License in your state of residence required
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft applications required
• Ability to type 45 wpm required
