As a Licensed Professional Geologist with the Department of Environmental Protection, you will review mining permit applications, conduct field investigations, and evaluate geologic and hydrologic data to ensure responsible mining operations and protect water resources. Based in the New Stanton District Mining Office in Westmoreland County, you'll work with multiple agencies and professionals to analyze complex environmental data and guide responsible development.
Keyqualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania license as a professional geologist from the State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists
- Active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent
- Ability to conduct field investigations and analyze geologic, hydrologic, and environmental data
- Experience reviewing mining and NPDES permit applications
- Knowledge of groundwater and surface water assessment for water resource protection
