Overview
The Corrections Community Center Monitor role at the Department of Corrections (DOC) at the York Community Corrections Center (CCC) offers an opportunity to support positive change every day. You will maintain safety and structure in the facility, guiding reentrants toward successful reintegration while ensuring the center operates smoothly. The role is ideal for someone who values teamwork, consistency, and community impact.
Responsibilities- Maintain security of the center, observe reentrant behavior, and document counts, searches, and activities.
- Watch closed‑circuit television (CCTV), record observations, issue misconducts, and attend disciplinary hearings.
- Conduct orientation for new reentrants, explain policies and rules, and provide information on public services.
- Manage reentrant and visitor sign‑in and sign‑out registers and control movement throughout the center.
- Conduct destination checks, administer breathalyzer and urinalysis tests, and record results.
- Inspect living and common areas for cleanliness, safety, and security while helping keep the center inspection ready.
- Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week.
- Three shifts covering 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- Must be able to work in York, York County, Pennsylvania.
- Must be willing and able to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Two years of experience performing public safety or security work, including protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws. Experience in a correctional setting, juvenile or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security is considered.
- One year of work experience providing direction or guidance to individuals, such as leading staff, assigning and evaluating tasks, offering informal counseling, or issuing orders in a military context.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
