THE POSITION
Take pride in knowing your work matters! As a Maintenance Repairman 2 with the Department of Transportation, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the structures that support daily travel. This opportunity allows you to build your skills while contributing to the safety of your community, working with a team that respects dedication and strong workmanship.
- Perform carpentry, concrete, and stone masonry tasks on structures throughout the district.
- Operate hand tools and motorized equipment safely and correctly for each assignment.
- Build and repair forms, walls, partitions, and related structural features.
- Follow safety procedures to protect yourself, coworkers, and the public.
- Guide semi-skilled workers and maintain communication with supervisors and coworkers.
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours:
7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch break. - Travel, overtime, and shift work required. Work hours are subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.

No telework option. - Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685 (before taxes).
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, involving at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
