Maintenance Repairman

THE POSITION
Take pride in knowing your work matters! As a Maintenance Repairman 2 with the Department of Transportation, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the structures that support daily travel. This opportunity allows you to build your skills while contributing to the safety of your community, working with a team that respects dedication and strong workmanship.

• Perform carpentry, concrete, and stone masonry tasks on structures throughout the district.
• Operate hand tools and motorized equipment safely and correctly for each assignment.
• Build and repair forms, walls, partitions, and related structural features.
• Follow safety procedures to protect yourself, coworkers, and the public.
• Guide semi-skilled workers and maintain communication with supervisors and coworkers.

• Full-time employment.
• Work hours:
  
  7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch break.
• Travel, overtime, and shift work required. Work hours are subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
• Telework:
  No telework option.
• Salary:
  Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685 (before taxes).

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
• Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, involving at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
