Corrections Plumbing Trade Instructor - SCI Greene

This position provides instruction in all areas of plumbing to support inmate vocational training. Our team will rely on you to help maintain a safe and efficient environment. As a Corrections Plumbing Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties:

• Deliver Training:
  Provide on-the-job training and shop instruction for the vocational training of inmates and instruction in the areas of general plumbing maintenance, preventative plumbing maintenance, and installation of new plumbing fixtures and equipment
• Oversee Work Crews:
  Plan and assign work to inmates receiving plumbing training; review and inspect work in progress and upon completion
• Manage Records:
  Maintain progress reports, attendance records, and assignment documentation
• Control Tools:
  Issue, conduct searches for, and track tools and materials
• Request Supplies:
  Determine needs for assigned plumbing projects and submit purchase requests for tools and materials

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework:
  You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary:
  Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,036 (before taxes).

• Five years of experience in the inspection, maintenance, repair, assembly, and installation of pipes, fittings, and fixtures used in heating, water, and drainage systems; or
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the plumbing trade; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the plumbing trade.

• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
