Performs skilled maintenance and repairs services of facility systems such as mechanical, electrical and building systems; ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
Responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting and providing immediate preventative and corrective maintenance support to production lines and facilitating change-over.
- Troubleshooting equipment problems and performing immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Overhauling and installing new equipment.
- Rebuilding and fabricating parts.
- Performing facility maintenance and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Generating parts requests to ensure adequate inventory.
- Generating and completing work orders as assigned.
- Performing equipment change-overs and production line set ups.
This is a bargaining union position - represented by Local 773, International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Must pass the Ramsey Test for Maintenance Mechanic.
- Vocational certification preferred.
- 1-5 years of industrial maintenance experience required.
- 1+ years of mechanical/electrical experience preferred.
- Prior diagnostic/troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience preferred.
- Previous experience within a high-speed industrial environment.
- Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to follow manufacturer's specifications and schematics.
- Programmable Logic Control (PLC) knowledge preferred.
Responsibilities and job duties include:
- Actively participating as a self-directed and committed member of a team and working with other team members to achieve the department and plant goals and objectives.
- Carrying out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
- Troubleshooting or performing necessary repairs to maintain the operation of equipment and systems in the areas of responsibilities such as process and packaging equipment, warehouse, electrical distribution, compressed air, boiler room equipment, refrigeration, instrumentation, treated water and waste water treatment facilities.
- Installing machinery and equipment as required.
- Developing PM/REPAIR tasks and entering them into SAP-PM database.
- Entering all work performed and parts used in SAP-PM database.
- Performing preventative maintenance on production machinery and facilities according to PM schedules.
- Actively auditing plant equipment and participating in the process of ordering, inventory and stocking of spare parts.
- Performing general maintenance including welding, basic electric, plumbing and carpentry, fabricating and installing parts when necessary, and documenting all repair or maintenance work done on any equipment using Maximo system. Preparing reports as needed.
- Maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusting effectively to work within new work structures, processes or requirements.
- Assisting in training and coaching other associates.
- Performing related duties as assigned.
